Heads up: event details can change (weather, operations, scheduling). Always confirm times and specifics on Copper’s official event calendar as your travel dates get closer.

December: Holiday Energy + Big Competition Week

Copper Mountain Chapel Dinner — Dec 11

A relaxed, community-style evening option if you want something warm and low-key after a full day on snow.

Toyota U.S. Grand Prix — Dec 17–20

A major competition stretch with a high-energy, big-event feel around the resort.

  • Dec 17: Snowboard Halfpipe Qualifiers
  • Dec 18: Freeski Halfpipe Qualifiers
  • Dec 19: Snowboard Halfpipe Finals
  • Dec 20: Freeski Halfpipe Finals

Holiday Celebration — Dec 24 (Christmas Eve)

Festive village programming that’s easy to pair with dinner and family-friendly activities.

New Year’s Eve at Copper — Dec 31

A built-in NYE celebration in Center Village—perfect if you want the countdown without leaving the resort, enjoy torch lit parades, live music & more.

January: Midwinter Momentum + Safetyfest

Copper Mountain Chapel Dinner — Jan 15

A great “rest legs, still have fun” night—especially if you’ve been skiing hard for a few days.

Safetyfest — Jan 24–25

A weekend focused on mountain safety and awareness—excellent for families, newer skiers/riders, and anyone wanting to brush up on best practices.

February: Dinner Nights + Copper Live Music

Copper Mountain Chapel Dinner — Feb 12

Another cozy dinner date—ideal for a mid-winter evening plan.

Copper Live — Feb 14

Copper’s free live music series (typically afternoon music in the village). Plan for early laps, then roll straight into après.

March: Prime Spring-Ski Vibes Begin

Copper Live — Mar 14

Longer days, improving weather, and a lively village scene—this is when spring energy really starts to show up.

April: Uphill Racing + Music + Spring Events

Mammut Uphill Race Series — Apr 11

An uphill-friendly race series that’s a fun watch—and a great reason to try a different side of mountain culture if you’re into fitness, touring, or skimo.

Copper Live — Apr 18

A classic late-season music day—perfect for sunny spring skiing (conditions permitting).

Slush Rush — Apr 26

One of Copper’s signature spring events (often a relay-style, costumes-welcome kind of vibe). Expect a lively crowd and peak spring energy.

Closing Weekend + Closing Day (End of Season)

Copper’s “closing weekend” timing and the final day of operations can shift depending on conditions, so if you’re planning a late-April trip, check the official calendar closer to your dates for the most accurate end-of-season schedule. Last season Closing day was in early May!
